LCA provides wastewater collection and treatment service for 381 residential and commercial properties in the New Tripoli area of Lynn Township. Due to the location of this system, this is a stand-alone system and is not connected to our regional system of interceptors.
A wastewater treatment plant is located on the outskirts of this community and is designed to treat 80,000 gallons of wastewater per day. Treated wastewater must meet water quality standards as required by our permit from the state Department of Environmental Protection, and is discharged directly into a tributary in the Ontelaunee Creek basin.
LCA’s primary focus for this system is to remove as much rainwater infiltration as possible, to reduce peak flows in the system during rain events. The wastewater treatment plant may need be upgraded in the years ahead, and reducing peak flows will greatly reduce the costs of such upgrades.
